Hello, Cupcake!

As a Christmas gift this year, I was given many items involving cupakes. Baking cupcakes, decoratig cupcakes, cupcake recipes, etc. Apparantly, I had made my career dream very clear. Anyway, my friends, family and co-workers have been on the receiving end of my Christmas gifts.
I have a couple of cupcake "gigs" lined up. Two birthday parties and a baby shower...so I am excited. If you live in my area and need some cupcakes, lemme know!

A fun Rainy Day

I was in Old Navy the other day and saw all of these awesome umbrellas, all under $10! If I didn't already have a super cute umbrella in my car, one at work and one at home I would probably buy one. (They also have cute ones at Target)

Well, April showers will soon be on their way, you had better be prepared!

Funky Socks

Since I broke my ankle and leg, I can no longer do heels. That means, I no longer do knee high panty hose with my heels. So, I am now doing something I thought I would never do...Funky Socks! I have actually had people at work comment on my "funky socks" and how they match (or don't match so much) my outfit. I have tried to stay relatively calm with the colors, designs, etc., but I may just change my mind. Why not find some hot pink with red heart socks for V-Day? We'll see....

More purses

I received my March issue of Lucky Magazine today. I always flip through this magazine in about 10 minutes because I just look for ideas (as I can normally not afford the real deal). Much to my dismay, this month they had a very cute, affordable purse from Kohl's!

(No more purse posts from me for awhile, promise!)

Fashion Flea

Today some girlfriends and I went to a "boutique fair" and I found the most awesome booth ever! Laura, revamps vintage purses. How awesome is that? I bought several things from her, so I thought I should plug her purses.
Her website is http://www.fashionflea.com/ . I tend to gravitate towards vintage finds, so you know I spent about 20 minutes at her booth. My sister actually had to come and get me and let me know we were running out of time, we only had an hour to get through the rest of the fair! (don't worry, we made it through every last booth.)

Prepping for V-Day

I love Real Simple magazine. It is one of the (many) magazines I get in the mail each month. And lucky me, I am also on their emailing list. So today in my inbox I received a email with cute ideas for Valentine's Day! They have some of the best Valentine's Day card ideas (and for free!)that I thought were cute...

Find an old random key lying around...it can now be a homemade card (You have the key to my heart!)

Kids bring home a sucker from the Valentine's party? (I am a sucker for you!)

Dead AAA batteries found in your junk drawer? (I get a charge outta you!)

Cheesy? Yes. Cute? Yes. (Hallmark ain't got nothing on us!)

Party Dresses

So, my brother is getting married in a few short weeks and my sister and I about killed ourselves this week trying to find suitable party dresses for all the festivities. And while most of the shoppers in the dress departments were 16 year old girls with their moms (it is prom season, after all) we did manage to find a few things here and there.

So, if you are looking for a gret party dress...(Valentine's Day, anyone?) I found a few that I love and might give you some inspiration to brave all the high school drama and hit the dresses!
